I’ve been really excited about the Deadeye since it was introduced in the new warbond. I love its design and the fact that it feels like a solid FUDD gun, which I’ve been wanting. However, I have mixed feelings about its performance. It reminds me a lot of the DCS and the recently buffed Slugger; I think it actually lines up better with the Slugger in terms of functionality. They both start with 60 rounds and deal similar damage, but the Deadeye offers better damage drop-off and velocity in exchange for a pretty slow single round reload. Helldivers can reload shells quicker than loading rounds in the Deadeye. This means the Siege Ready perk really helps reduce the reload hassle. In terms of effectiveness against bugs, it does one-shot smaller enemies but doesn’t clear crowds well due to its limited magazine size. It excels against tougher enemies but struggles against smaller targets, where I think the Slugger might perform better since it fires more frequently. With bots, I find it frustrating that it staggers the Devastators, making headshots trickier. I feel it could benefit from less stagger and a slight damage trade-off to enhance its effectiveness overall. What do you all think?

I’m really loving it against bots! I used to be a big DCS fan, but now the Deadeye is my go-to. The handling feels similar, but the staggering is a game-changer for lining up follow-up shots, especially if you miss the head. Plus, the reload isn’t too bad with the Siege Ready passive, making it extremely effective against tougher enemies.
If you’re up against bugs, pair the Deadeye with a good crowd control weapon like the Bushwacker for the smaller enemies. It’s great against larger foes like hive guards and commanders, but definitely needs a secondary to handle the Hunters and Warriors. Just keep in mind its limitations for clearing out crowds!
Totally agree! I love the speed with which I can take down berserkers. I’m using it alongside the spear post-nerf, and I’m just annihilating everything in sight!
