Hey everyone! I started playing Overwatch in late 2024 and I’m really enjoying it with my friends. However, I’m a bit worried about the idea of perks being introduced into the core game. I thought it might work well as a new game mode for fun, with the option to switch to non-perk matches for a more relaxed experience. But I’m concerned that this might change the game in a way that feels overwhelming. I really hope there’s still a way to play without perks, even though it looks like that might not be possible. Is anyone else feeling the same way? I know some players aren’t happy with certain changes in the game, but I find the 5v5 format to be pretty casual and chill.

I’ve been playing since OW1 and honestly, I’m not loving the direction this is going. I prefer consistency and skill expression over leveling up or gaining perks during matches. It feels like it could disrupt the flow and excitement of gameplay.
Honestly, I think it could be a good challenge. A system like this could make the meta more dynamic. Sure, there might be some frustrating moments, but learning about these new perks could add an interesting twist to strategies. Just gotta adapt, right?
I get that, but you also have to consider how this might mutate counter-picking. Knowing what enemies might be able to do at all times is part of fun!
True! But think about the possibilities for mirror matches getting more diverse. That could be a game-changer!
I get where you’re coming from! Personally, I feel unsure about how perks will fit, especially in ranked play. With so many heroes in the roster, it could complicate the game. Imagine being in a match and suddenly, someone’s able to double nano? That’s a huge shift mid-game! I’d love some fun boosts, but the big perks sound a bit excessive.
Exactly! One perk can really change the dynamics, especially if it affects the core mechanics of a hero.
And don’t even get me started on those crazy perks for Ana. It feels like it could just lead to chaos!
Totally hear you! Skill-based gameplay keeps things fun, and perks might just complicate that.
