I’m coming back to the game after taking a break since season 1, and I noticed they removed the time gating for horrific visions, which I really appreciate! I’m considering subbing again, but I’m a bit lost on how to get back into the swing of things. Can I use my season 1 gear, or do I need to regear completely? Is it possible to just jump into heroics to get ready, or do I have to be fully geared in mythic items to even give horrific visions a shot? Any insights would really help!

You don’t need to be mythic geared at all! I plan to dive into horrific visions with my LFR gear later, and honestly, there’s no limit on attempts. Just start trying them out as soon as you feel ready! While my gear is around 670, I’ve found that it’s really the sanity mechanic that’s the tough part, not the enemies themselves. You might not get super far at first, but that’s okay since you can keep trying as many times as you want. If you want some better gear to start with, delves and the new Hallowfall faction can be great sources, plus you can exchange undercoins for veteran gear if you’ve done a few delves already.
The difficulty ramps up for sure, but you can jump in right away. A 640+ ring is super easy to snag from the Hallowfall event, and you can gear up quickly in just a couple of days. Crafting gear is also an option if you want to boost your stats. I just got back before the patch and I’m already at 654 by doing delves and this event.
Quick question about the nightfall event: do you only get that token on your first run, or is it a weekly thing?
I actually did a 3-mask clear at 670, man! That article about the unlock conditions was totally off, lol. You can definitely full clear, no worries!
