I’m looking for some classic games that might suit my dad, who’s over 60 and has just started exploring gaming. He has a knack for older titles, especially enjoying the Socom series and other stealth-based games, but he’s open to trying out different genres. After investing about 200 hours into Socom, I think he’s starting to look for something new. Any recommendations for classic games I could introduce him to would be greatly appreciated!

You should check out the Metal Gear Solid series and the Syphon Filter games! They have that stealth aspect he enjoys. Tenchu is another great option for stealth gameplay. Plus, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a classic that might surprise him!
Animal Crossing on the GameCube is surprisingly popular with older players. My retired dad plays it a ton, and it’s a chill game where he can fish and catch butterflies all day! It might just be the perfect fit for him.
My granddad loved the Medal of Honor games on PS2! You might also want to suggest Splinter Cell games, like Chaos Theory, or a little bit of Call of Duty too. They all have a mix of stealth and shooting, which could appeal to him!
If your dad liked Socom, he might enjoy the Medal of Honor series, especially Allied Assault, and the older Call of Duty games. My dad was a big fan of those, too!
I don’t think HALO was on PS2, though.
Don’t forget about the Conflict series and the Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30! Also, Tenchu 3 is a solid pick if he’s into stealth action. If you want some co-op fun, Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks could be entertaining too!
Thanks for the suggestions!
