Hey everyone! So I’ve been really into gaming for a while now, but I’ve come to realize that I missed out on a lot of classic and obscure titles while growing up. I got my first console, an Xbox 360, when I was around 10 and stuck with it until I got an Xbox One at 15-16. My family wasn’t well off, so I mostly played a limited selection of games I had or available demos. I’ve enjoyed titles like the Halo series, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Sonic Generations, Battlefield 3, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Spider-Man 3, and the Batman: Arkham games.
Lately, I’ve been watching video game content like videogamedunkey, and it hit me that I’m missing a lot of cultural references and want to dive deeper into gaming history. I’m open to any suggestions, even if they require emulation. Now that I’m on PC, almost anything is possible!

I recommend Metal Gear Solid 3 and Resident Evil 4 for some of the best storytelling and gameplay! You might also enjoy Hollow Knight, Minecraft, and Enter the Gungeon. They’re all fantastic in their own ways!
Check out Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi; it’s an old horror game with an amazing atmosphere. Also, Clive Barker’s Undying is another hidden gem. And don’t forget about Legacy of Kain: Defiance; it’s a great entry point even if you haven’t played the earlier games!
You should definitely try out Undertale! It’s a unique experience and has great storytelling. Also, Fable 1 (the complete edition) is a classic. It’s a bit rough around the edges but super fun and has influenced a lot of games.

Have you ever played Chrono Trigger? It’s a classic that influenced nearly every RPG after it! And if you’re into open-world games, Oblivion and Skyrim are absolutely essential!
Definitely give Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 a shot; they’re classics from Bioware and Obsidian. They’re not just great RPGs but also have incredible storytelling and characters. Also, the Gears of War series is worth playing for its co-op experience and fun gameplay.
Fable 1 and 2 were so ahead of their time. Such great games!
