I’m really considering getting a Steam Deck because it looks awesome, but I’m not sure how useful it will be for me outside of gaming. I’ll be traveling overseas a couple of times this year, but I don’t think it’s portable enough for everyday train rides. Can anyone share what other uses a Steam Deck might have apart from gaming? Thanks!

The Steam Deck is pretty handy for watching shows! I switch to desktop mode when I’m away, and it actually offers a better experience for streaming services like YouTube and Netflix than my phone. Great for trips!
It’s basically a portable PC, so you can do all sorts of things! I even run my laser cutter and 3D printer from mine. If you’re not a hardcore user, it can handle basic tasks like file management and even some light video editing. Plus, connecting it to an external monitor turns it into a makeshift desktop!
I use mine to produce music and for streaming. I set up browser shortcuts for streaming services that don’t have native apps, so it’s perfect for media consumption. Just hook it up to your TV and you’re good to go!
I use my Steam Deck as a full desktop setup! I have it docked with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Honestly, it’s just a PC, so you can do most tasks with it. Super versatile!
Sounds like the Steam Deck is super versatile! I’ll definitely look into those desktop capabilities.
