After playing through various runs and giving Vanniluxe a fair shot, I’ve really grown to love it—it’s even become my favorite Pokémon. I’ve heard a lot of people dislike it because of its simple, ice cream-inspired design. While that might be true, I personally think it still looks pretty cool. I’m curious if others still hate on the ice cream Pokémon or if it’s gained more appreciation over time?

I’ve always felt that object Pokémon kinda lean more towards Digimon vibe, which I like, but for me Pokémon is more about monsters inspired by animals and creatures. So, I get why some might find Vanniluxe’s design a bit bland, but I personally don’t mind it.
Unbound definitely helped Vanniluxe shine for me too. Sometimes it just takes the right game or format for certain Pokémon to really stand out.
Vanniluxe is actually a solid special attacker with the added bonus of setting the weather (and it got a buff to its defense in Gen 9). It has a strong STAB typing too. I don’t get the hate either, honestly no Pokémon really deserves hate.
In my opinion, Vanniluxe isn’t a bad choice for setting weather and activating snow warning effects. It’s definitely not the worst option out there.
I honestly love all object-themed Pokémon, so Vanniluxe doesn’t bother me at all. However, when it comes to battling, it’s not particularly exciting or unique compared to others. Still, it’s cool to see it work in BW2 and some fangames.
I’m not huge on ice types, so it’s not really my style, but I always thought Vanniluxe was kinda cute and never understood why people hate the design so much.
I tried using Vanniluxe a lot in Pokémon Reborn and honestly, it changed my perspective on the Pokémon. It felt way more useful and fun there than I expected.
Since ice cream is my favorite dessert, I’ve loved the Vannilish line since Black and White came out. When I was younger, I thought the hate for it was ridiculous, especially considering there are way less cute or simpler designs like Magnemite or Voltorb that didn’t get nearly as much hate.
I think Vanniluxe is silly and fun! I’m a big fan of Pokémon that can set weather, so it’s one of my favorites for that reason alone.
Yeah, the freshness of those fan games makes me appreciate some lesser-used Pokémon much more.
