As a new player diving into Guild Wars 2, I’m curious to hear what others think about the game. Specifically, what do you appreciate the most, and what do you think could use improvement? I personally really enjoy the horizontal progression system since I find vertical progression can be quite exhausting. On the flip side, I wish I had discovered this game sooner!

I appreciate how GW2 allows players to return without losing relevance in gear—my characters from years ago still feel capable! But man, the clutter in my inventory drives me nuts. Also, the cash shop can feel a little overwhelming, especially with how much emphasis is placed on some paid features compared to free aspects.
One of my favorite aspects is the freedom in character management. You can swap builds and alts really easily, which is a breeze compared to other MMOs. However, inventory management can be a real hassle, and some achievements can take forever to complete. Still, the fluidity of combat is unmatched in any MMO.
Absolutely! The character customization in GW2 is a huge draw, and players often build to express themselves creatively rather than just grinding for gear.
The world design is stunning, and the amount of content is overwhelming in a good way! But it can get confusing with all the currencies and hidden content locked in achievements. Sometimes I feel lost trying to figure out what I should be focusing on.
Totally agree! The different currencies can be a bit of a headache, especially for new players just trying to get a handle on everything.
The combat mechanics in this game are a blast—really fluid compared to other MMOs. But, I feel like the developers don’t have a consistent vision for the game; they seem to be catering to more casual players. This makes it frustrating for those looking for challenging content, especially in PvE and PvP. It feels like there’s a missed opportunity to really push the limits of what the game could be.
I get that frustration! It’s like the game has so much potential, but it gets watered down for accessibility.
Yeah, that gem shop can be intense! But there are ways to earn gems by trading gold, which helps offset some of the costs.
