I’ve heard that the Fuzion system combines elements from the Hero system and R. Talsorian’s Interlock system. It doesn’t seem to come up often, so I’m curious if anyone here has actually played it. What do you think? Is it better than either of the systems it draws from, or does it fall short? Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I’ve dabbled in Fuzion quite a bit, and honestly, it feels much more like Interlock to me now. While I have nostalgia for Hero Champions, Fuzion definitely runs smoother. However, I can’t say it offers anything groundbreaking. There are certainly newer systems out there that I’d recommend first, but it can still provide some fun moments in gameplay.
Exactly! Sometimes it’s just about the fun factor.
I ran a supers campaign using Fuzion ages ago, and coming from a background of Champions and GURPS, I found it pretty enjoyable at the time. It felt like a breath of fresh air—fast and light without feeling too flimsy. That said, I think the version I played is pretty different from the current ones. Today’s Fuzion seems much closer to Interlock, which might not be as appealing for new players.
That’s interesting! Sounds like it really depends on which version you’re looking at.
Definitely! Older systems can feel so different from the newer iterations.
I’ve played some games with Fuzion, and honestly, I found it to be pretty bland. It feels like a lot of standard 90s RPGs—nothing particularly exciting. If you’re using it just to leverage some existing Fuzion content, I get it, but I’d rather convert it to something more engaging.
That’s a fair point! Some systems really do feel dated.
Yeah, it’s weird how some older systems just hit differently than they used to.
Just to clarify, Fuzion has evolved. Most of the Hero aspects have been stripped away, and now it’s more a refined version of Interlock. If we’re looking at the current iteration, it’s pretty playable, but you still find it favors characters with high stats, which can skew balance.
Interesting shift! I guess it depends on what players enjoy in their RPGs.
Totally! Balancing characters can be a tricky thing.
Wow, I had almost forgotten about this game! I’m definitely thinking I should give Fuzion another shot sometime—nostalgia and all that!
Good to hear it runs smoothly! Always nice to have options, even if they’re not top-tier.
