I’m curious about how much you’re willing to spend on the Xbox Ally X, especially with rumors suggesting it might cost around $900. Given the price and what you expect from the device, do you think the price is justified?

Honestly, $900 feels way too steep for a handheld console. I can’t justify that kind of money, especially when I’ve got other options like a gaming laptop that seems like a better investment.
I mean, the current ROG Ally is also around that price. Sure, it’s powerful, but I don’t see many people willing to shell out that much for a handheld. At that point, I’d consider just getting a dedicated gaming laptop instead.
Exactly! Plus, the Switch 2 is expected to be around $450, which makes the Ally X even more daunting in comparison.
I’m not really into handhelds, so I wouldn’t spend anything. But I can see some gamers might dig the idea of a mobile Xbox experience, especially if it could run AAA games decently well.
But how likely is it that’ll even run those games well? For me, owning a Steam Deck already covers my needs.
This price point seems a bit wild unless it can actually hang with high-end PCs. Otherwise, I doubt it’ll find much of a market at $900. Too many gamers already have setups they’re happy with, you know?
Totally! The tech has to impress at that price, or they might just miss the mark.
Right? With that price tag, I think a lot of us would rather wait for something more affordable.
