Hey everyone! I’m pretty new around here and I’m curious to hear from those who frequently check social media platforms like Twitter or YouTube. I’m interested in any opinions or discussions you came across about Avowed, whether before or after you played it. How did those opinions shape your experience with the game? I’ve been away from social media, aside from watching basketball content on YouTube, and I was shocked to learn that Avowed is somewhat disliked since I absolutely loved it! I’m aware this might not be the best place to ask, considering it’s a forum filled with fans, but if you’ve seen any negativity surrounding Avowed, I’d love to know how it impacted you. I plan to compile these insights into a deep dive video, so please respond only if you’re comfortable being featured. Thanks so much!

This discussion around social media’s influence isn’t just limited to gaming; it’s a larger societal issue. It can definitely skew perceptions in general. The emotions that come from seeing so many differing opinions can really change how you view something you might actually enjoy. Avowed has strengths that people overlook just because of the negative noise.
I haven’t really watched much before playing it, but I checked out some reviews afterwards. Honestly, I’m not too worried about other people’s opinions. Everyone’s got their own taste and I just enjoyed Avowed for what it is. I think a lot of negativity comes from people wanting something completely different, like hoping for Skyrim 2. It does its own thing, and I appreciate that.
I noticed Skill Up had a pretty lukewarm reaction to Avowed, mentioning that they found The Voice to be ‘predictably villainous,’ which is an interesting take considering the game’s lore. A lot of the criticism seems to stem from issues like navmesh problems and the lack of a crime system, especially from gamers influenced by Asmongold. It feels like some of the complaints are from a specific crowd that exaggerates their discontent for views. For my part, I found Avowed to be a solid game that improves on Outer Worlds despite what the haters say.
