Hey, fellow gamers! I could really use some help with my game settings. My current setup includes a 4070 Super OC, a 7700X, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and I play on a 24-inch 1440p monitor. I’ve watched a few guides from trusted sources, but I’m feeling super confused about what settings to go for. I know I definitely need to turn off hardware lumen, but I’m stuck on other options like frame generation, DLSS, anti-aliasing, and reflections. Also, I’ve had some kernel 32 crashes in the past, but I managed to fix those. The game still looks off, though, and I’m considering tweaking the engine.ini with some mods. Any advice from folks who also play at 1440p would be greatly appreciated! Honestly, my GPU probably screamed, ‘by the 9 divines, assault!’ after that last crash.

I’ve got a 3060 Ti and I actually run everything on medium settings. Works just fine for me without any major performance issues. How do you handle DLSS and frame generation with those settings?
Turning off hardware lumen is definitely a game changer; it really improves the visuals! Give it some more time to test things out, especially since you had those crashes. I’m glad you fixed the kernel 32 issue, but keep an eye on your GPU temps. Always good to be cautious after that kind of scare!
Thanks! I’ll make sure to do some testing. Lost my old GPU to a similar crash before, so I totally understand why you’d be careful.
My setup is a bit different – I run a 16GB i7 with a 2070 and have my settings maxed out except for vsync and a few other things. I get stable frames 45-60 most of the time. It’s great that you’re experimenting with your setup! Keep those drivers updated, and you should remain crash-free!
That’s interesting! It seems like you have a good balance. Even with lower specs, some people are getting stutters in open areas.
I usually just opt for medium too! DLSS really helps boost performance without sacrificing too much quality, especially in resource-heavy areas.
