I’m diving into the Fabius Bile trilogy and came across a mention that got me curious about other references to the Lost Primarchs. Any notable quotes or theories? I found a quote from the trilogy that talks about Fulgrim mentioning a Forgotten One leading an expedition during the Great Crusade, but it left me wondering what else is out there concerning the Lost Primarchs.

There’s a passage in ‘Fulgrim: The Palatine Phoenix’ that touches on the Lost Primarch. It mentions a scenario where several voices are arguing against the 8th Primarch – really highlights the tension and doubts among the brothers, with even a serious Primarch calling out Fulgrim for his hubris. I like to think the lost Primarch might have been the 2nd one, especially the scholarly type before Magnus came along. What do you think?
Interesting how Fulgrim sees him as a hypocrite there. Makes me wonder what led to him exploring Necron sites in the depths of the Great Crusade.
It’s confirmed that the Lost Primarch participated in the Rangdan Xenocides, likely cited in ‘The Imperial Infantryman’s Uplifting Primer.’ There’s also some chatter in ‘The First Heretic’ about the II and XI Marines being mixed into the Ultramarines, but it’s mostly speculation from the Word Bearers. They’re definitely a suspicious bunch, don’t trust a word from Gilliman!
It’s noted that the II and XI Legions were part of the Rangda wars, but details are sketchy on their involvement or if they survived. I think it’s possible the second Primarch led his men, but XI wasn’t around until after the wars.
Exactly, it’s unclear what really happened to them. Malcador told Dorn they argued for the lost Primarch’s sons, believing their failures shouldn’t reflect on the legions.
Wait, Fulgrim? Hubris? He must have grown out of that… /S
