What are the must-have ships from the Research Bureau?

-

I’ve managed to accumulate enough points to get Ohio and Paolo Emilio. I’ve heard Ohio is still one of the best ships to buy from the Research Bureau, whereas Paolo Emilio feels more like a meme ship, though it can be fun at times. I haven’t kept up with the latest updates on the Research Bureau, so I’m curious if there are other ships that are considered must-haves. Just to clarify, I’m not really interested in Vampire II, even though everyone says it’s strong; destroyers just aren’t my style!

I think you definitely want to consider Colbert; it’s a fan favorite and really fun to play. Druid has its moments but can be quite situational, while Ohio remains solid. If you’re looking for something versatile, those are good picks. Plus, the humor in Druid’s rate of fire is unbeatable!

CaptainSniper101 -

I had a blast with Druid, just love how it can take down other destroyers!

TacticalGamer77 -

Colbert is a must; just watch out because it can really explode under fire from bigger ships!

OhioFanatic54 -

Ohio is really the king here. I just don’t see the value in other ships when Ohio works so well in all game modes, even ranked!

RandomPlayer82 -

Yeah, Ohio gets focused a lot, but I still love using it.

Just a heads up, when it comes to Research Bureau discussions, we often abbreviate it to RB instead of RP, just to clear up any confusion! And if you’re after something unique, checking out ships like Slava or Da Barbiano could be interesting, even if they aren’t better than some tech tree options.

SaltySeafarer61 -

Good to know! Slava can be a blast if you’re up against distracted players.

EagleEye888 -

Yeah, I’d suggest doing some research on these before deciding.

Colbert is still great but might not be your style if you dislike ships that can go down quickly. I always do a reset when the multiplier is up just to get fun ships to play with, but it really depends on what you enjoy!

StealthSniper99 -

Agreed, Colbert is fantastic for ribbon missions!

BattleshipBoss83 -

Ohio is really the standout ship for me. I used to love Illinois for those BB missions, but honestly, Ohio just performs better across the board. If destroyers aren’t your thing, then you’re likely fine skipping them altogether. Just focus on what fits your playstyle!

TankerWarrior88 -

Illinois is fun enough but now I prefer sticking with Ohio too!
