I’ve been on a quest for video games that really tug at the heartstrings. I cried at the end of To The Moon and just finished What Remains Of Edith Finch, so I’m looking for recommendations for games that really hit you in the feels. Any suggestions?

Outer Wilds is a big one for me. The ending has such a profound beauty that you can’t fully grasp until you experience it. It’s all about accepting the inevitable, and the way it unfolds hits hard after you’ve invested so much time exploring the universe.
The music fucking gets you, right? I can’t listen to it without getting choked up!
The original Walking Dead Telltale game is a tearjerker, especially Season 1. Just the bond between Lee and Clementine, oh man, it wrecked me at the end! My partner cried buckets too.
S1 hit me way harder than S4, which is a rarity.
I remember my wife just sobbing at the end of that.
Mass Effect also has some pretty powerful moments, especially that line, “Had to be me. Someone else might’ve gotten it wrong.” Just the weight of the choices and characters—it gets you right in the feels.
“I have a home” always brings the tears!
That and the ending with Anderson gets me every time. Just brutal.
I never knew I could cry over a robot until I played Titanfall 2. The campaign is fantastic and the ending really got to me — that had me sobbing. Just so well done all around!
Protocol 3: protect the pilot. I still can’t handle it.
Totally agree! Gameplay and story blended perfectly!
Red Dead Redemption really hits home. The line “Thank you. For everything” still gives me chills. I was so attached to my horse; losing it was heartbreaking!
I can’t believe they let you bond with the horses only to break your heart.
The feels hit hard when your first horse dies, man. It’s brutal.
It makes you appreciate every little moment during the game. Definitely worth the emotional rollercoaster!
