As a casual player who’s only logged a few sessions in Terraria, I just learned that the game is receiving an update—and it seems like the community has been waiting for it for two years. With next month being the anniversary of Terraria, I was wondering if that might be a good time to expect the update. What do you think?

I feel like they might need more time. If they were aiming for next month, we would’ve heard about it by now in the last updates. My gut says we might see it later, maybe August. But that’s just a hunch.
For me, I’m really hoping for some big enhancements, especially with those new summoner prefixes. So regardless of the date, I just want it to be awesome.
I’d say there’s about an 80-90% chance it could drop next month! If you really break down their updates and consider some of the unofficial metrics—like the weather patterns affecting the devs’ taco intake—I’d say we might see it arrive in the second or third week. But hey, that’s just my quirky analysis!
Haha, don’t forget to check the taco guide next time! We could use a taco expert support team here!
Honestly, I think the odds are pretty slim for next month. They haven’t announced a release date yet, and typically they like to give at least a month’s notice. The recent State of the Game post suggested they have some cool stuff in the works, but it sounds like we’re still a few months away from those details, with more planning to do for 1.4.5.
Realistically speaking, I think we’re looking at 2026 for this update, honestly. No hints suggest a release this year, and without any timeline, it feels far off.
That taco coefficient thing really cracked me up! Gotta love the way you broke that down.
