I’m heading to Tokyo for a few days and need to plan my visit. I know I’ll hit up the Nintendo Store and the Pokémon Center, but I’m looking for more must-see spots specifically in Tokyo. I probably won’t be traveling to other cities, but I’m open to any cool attractions in the city. My favorite Nintendo franchises are Splatoon, Zelda, Pokémon, Mario, and Metroid—so if you have recommendations related to these, that would be awesome! Also, if there are any places where I can find retro consoles at decent prices, that’d be great too. By the way, due to a last-minute trip announcement, my options are limited, so give me your best suggestions!

For a chance to experience Tokyo’s skyscrapers, check out the Tocho observation deck for a free panoramic view of the city. It’s as stunning as paid observatories but doesn’t cost a thing! Also, if you’re looking for fan experiences, hitting the Shibuya crossing spot featured in The World Ends With You is a fun nod for fans.
If you’re into snacks, check out Niki no Kashi in Ueno; it’s a great place to grab a bunch of snacks at low prices for your trip home. And for something unique, try Alba Curry near Akihabara—best food I’ve had while traveling there! Don’t forget to hit up Radio Kaikan for some awesome collectibles and games! They’ve got everything from figures to rare trading cards.
I second the curry recommendation; it’s a must-try! Also, convenience stores have some cool promotional items—don’t skip those!
I love how you can just find random treasures at places like that!
Shibuya Parco is another great spot where you can find a Pokémon Center, Nintendo Store, and even a Capcom Store, all on the same floor! It’s an easy way to hit multiple fandoms in one go. Just don’t forget to make reservations for the cafes if you want that experience!
Oh, right! The Capcom Store is amazing for all things Resident Evil! You can find some cool merch there.
You definitely can’t miss the Nintendo Store and Pokémon Center, but I’d also recommend checking out Super Potato in Akihabara for retro games. It’s a treasure trove! Plus, head to an arcade there; they have a ton of Nintendo-themed games. And while you’re in Akihabara, explore the thrift stores called Book Off; you might find some gaming gems! Just be prepared to spend some time wandering around, as it’s arcade and gaming heaven!
I’ve heard Super Potato’s prices aren’t the best anymore, so you might want to check out places like Mandarake or Nakano Broadway for better deals!
Totally agree about Akihabara! I grabbed a few Japanese SNES games for my collection there, and the prices were pretty good!
Nice, I didn’t know that! The views must be incredible, I’ll add that to my list!
