What Are Some Short Narrative Games to Enjoy in One Sitting?

-

I’m on the hunt for some short narrative-driven games that I can finish in about 2–3 hours, ideally in one sitting. I’m looking for something with a good story that isn’t just a graphic novel or a walking simulator—those genres are great, but I want something different this time. A good example might be “A Short Hike,” but I’m open to any style, whether it’s horror, puzzle, platformer, or something cozy. While I’m aiming for 2-3 hours, I’m okay if it’s a bit longer as long as I can still comfortably complete it without feeling rushed.

Have you tried “Spilled”? It’s a fresh release and only takes about an hour to finish. Definitely fits the bill for a quick, story-driven adventure!

“What Remains of Edith Finch” is fantastic and can be completed in around 3 hours. It has a unique storytelling approach that feels very engaging, plus it’s visually stunning. You might also enjoy “The Unfinished Swan,” which is another interesting narrative experience!

You should definitely check out “The Beginner’s Guide”! It’s a narrative game that digs into storytelling in a unique way. It’s kinda underrated, especially since the creators previously made “The Stanley Parable.” You might find it intriguing!

Yeah, I totally agree! It’s such a deep experience and offers a different perspective on narrative in games.

“Braid” is another solid pick. It’s mainly a puzzle platformer, but as you progress through the game, you’ll uncover a compelling story. It can definitely be finished in a few hours—perfect for what you want!

If you haven’t played it yet, I highly recommend “To The Moon.” I wrapped it up in one sitting and found it to be a delightful narrative experience with some minor puzzles. It’s mostly story-focused, so it should fit what you’re looking for!
