What are some great roguelike game recommendations?

-

I’m a big fan of roguelike games and have played quite a few of them, including popular titles like Hades, Dead Cells, Nightmare the Lunatic, Risk of Rain, Cult of the Lamb, and Have a Nice Death. I’m looking for more suggestions that a seasoned roguelike player might enjoy. What are some games you’d recommend?

The Last Spell is another fun tactical RPG roguelike; it mixes strategy with roguelike elements really well. And if you’re looking for something a bit different, give Hitman: World of Assassination’s Freelancer mode a shot! It’s not fully roguelike but has some similar mechanics with random tasks and rewards after each run.

I’ve heard good things about Freelancer! Definitely sounds like a fresh take on the genre.

And don’t forget about the classic Spelunky 2 if you’re into challenging platforming!

If you haven’t played it yet, The Binding of Isaac is a classic! It has tons of replay value and a really unique art style. You might also love Enter the Gungeon for its fun bullet-hell mechanics and co-op play.

You should definitely check out Slay the Spire; it’s a unique card-based roguelike that’s really engaging! If you’re into deck builders, Monster Train might be even better, as it provides a smoother experience. Plus, it’s got some fun mechanics that keep it fresh!

I see what you mean! Monster Train’s choices feel more integrated than Slay the Spire’s, and the workshop mods for StS are pretty cool too.

Don’t forget about Pirate Outlaws; it gives off a similar vibe!

Rogue Legacy 1 and 2 are fantastic too! The first one took me a while to get into, but it’s so rewarding once you do. It’s a fun twist on the roguelike genre with its unique character progression.

I can relate! It took me a few sessions to get the hang of it, but now I love the variety of characters you get to play with.
