My cousin and I have been hooked on World of Tanks for years, but lately, it’s become a bit toxic and less enjoyable, so we’ve decided to take a break. We’re now on the hunt for a new game that offers great grind and tactical gameplay, something rewarding but not overrun with negativity. Got any good suggestions?

There are plenty of games with similar vibes to World of Tanks. If you’re into strategy and tactical depth, you might dig RTS titles like Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Mindustry, or even Halo Wars. They have grinding elements and strategic gameplay. For serious grind potential, Eve Online could be interesting, though it’s a big commitment. Also, if you liked World of Tanks, you might find World of Warships appealing—it’s crafted by the same developers, so it could hit familiar notes.
If you’re cool with a game that actually has a finish line, give Ghost Recon: Wildlands a shot in co-op mode. It drops you in Bolivia as a special forces team reclaiming areas on the map. It seriously might be the best co-op game I’ve played, and fully exploring it takes around 80+ hours. If you’re chasing a longer grind, The Division 2 is worth checking out too. It’s not being updated frequently anymore, probably due to Division 3 development, but I’ve clocked around 500 hours with my buddies before we moved on.
I used to be deep into World of Tanks as well, but they kind of lost it with the new tank lineups—it messed with the balance big time. You might not be addicted, just feeling burned out. For a less toxic experience, you could flip to PvE games like Helldivers 2. In my book, PvP always ends up toxic, so PvE could be a nice change.
