Hey everyone! I’m on the lookout for some games that I can play while listening to other content, so I prefer ones with little to no story, or at least a very forgettable one. I’m really into action-packed gameplay that offers a sense of progression, like leveling up, unlocking new characters or skills, gaining loot—basically anything that keeps me engaged. I’m not interested in cozy games like Stardew Valley or card/deckbuilding games like Slay The Spire or Balatro right now. I usually lean towards Roguelikes, Bullet Heaven games (like Vampire Survivors), or Racing games. If you have any recommendations in that vein, I’d love to hear them! Thanks a bunch! :)

You might enjoy Warhammer: Total War! It’s got a good balance of action and strategy without too much narrative clutter. If you’re into grand tactical battles, this could be your jam!
How about trying out Rage 2? The story isn’t its strong suit—pretty mediocre, really—but the gameplay is a lot of fun and action-packed, which I think fits what you’re looking for!
Have you given Hollow Knight a shot? It’s not overly story-driven, and while it’s got a bit of lore, the focus is much more on exploration and combat, plus it has that sweet sense of progression as you unlock new abilities!
I’d suggest checking out Valheim, Terraria, or Factorio. They all have a low-key story and a lot of gameplay that’s fun to dive into while listening to something else!
I just played Gears 5, and it ticks a lot of those boxes. The story is cliché and pretty bland, but the gameplay is solid and enjoyable, plus you can lose yourself in it without worrying too much about the narrative!
Thanks for the suggestion! I haven’t tried that one yet, but it sounds interesting. I’ll check it out!
