I’m really into games that let you choose your stats, whether it’s going for a super fast build, a strong powerhouse, or an intelligent wizard. I want that feeling of meaningful choices, but I’m not looking for anything too strategic or MOBA-like. Any recommendations?

Mount and Blade: Warband is another great pick. It gives you plenty of room to customize your character’s stats and playstyle.
Cyberpunk 2077 does a solid job here too. Even if you stray from your preferred build, you’ll still be useful in most situations. But if you really focus on your specs, you’ll unlock some serious power in your gameplay style. The Borderlands series is also very fun and offers great perk and spec progression. Borderlands 2 is my favorite!
Grim Dawn is fantastic for this. It has a great setting and the leveling system is enjoyable, plus you get to really feel the impact of your stat choices.
If you’re into ARPGs, Path of Exile is a top contender. But be warned, its skill tree can be overwhelming! It’s super deep, but it’s got everything you’re looking for in terms of stat allocation.
You can’t go wrong with the stat systems in Souls games. They really make your choices feel significant, especially when considering the impact of different values on your build. Elden Ring is a prime example, just keep in mind that the stats cap at 99, so if you’re after huge numbers, it might disappoint you.
