I really enjoy the humor in the nicknames people use for Games Workshop characters, like calling it James Workshop or Jimmy Space. They always crack me up! I’m curious if there are more of these funny names out there and if there’s any meme lore behind them. Anyone else got some favorites?

The name ‘Jimmy Space’ comes from the origins of these names being kind of ridiculous, like how ‘volcano cannons’ are said to use crystals from a volcano. Some members of Yogscast poked fun at this, and someone chimed in that the ‘Emperor is Jimmy Space’ with his space marines!

I believe John Halo was the original meme. Spartan 117, a.k.a. John, has the most generic protagonist name ever. From Games to James to John Warhammer, it just fits!

Don’t forget about ‘Fabulous Billy’ for Fabius Bile! We were teasing him like this over 25 years ago when someone painted him like a pimp with a big hat at the store, and it just stuck!

My personal favorite is ‘Peter Turbo’ for Peterabo. Also, I love the mocking nicknames for Roboute Guilliman like ‘Robot Girlyman.’ There are tons more funny ones, but those really stick with me, along with James Workshop and John Warhammer!
