My friend’s finally joined the gaming world and ordered a refurbished OLED Steam Deck. I’m looking for some suggestions on multiplayer games that we could enjoy together on our Decks. We’ve played a variety of games before, like ‘It Takes Two’ and ‘Hell Divers 2’, so we’re open to anything as long as it’s fun. Ideally, we’re hoping for budget-friendly options, as my friend is new to gaming and might not want to spend a lot initially. It would be great if the games have built-in voice chat, but if not, I can set up Discord for us. Any recommendations? Thanks a ton!

If you both like turn-based games, check out ‘For the King’. It’s pretty engaging and offers a lot of strategy.
Lastly, ‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection’ is pretty epic for some classic gaming if you’re into FPS games.
If you’re into laid-back games, ‘Stardew Valley’ is awesome for co-op. I played it with my girlfriend on our Steam Deck and it was a blast! Plus, you can mod the Steam version on the Deck.
You can’t go wrong with ‘Left 4 Dead’! It’s a classic for multiplayer sessions and runs smoothly on pretty much any system.
Another cool option is ‘Shredder’s Revenge’. It’s super fun co-op and perfect for some casual gaming.
Or you could try ‘Castle Crashers’! It’s a classic and always leads to a good time. Classic multiplayer fun no matter what!
If you’re into emulation, you can play ‘Mario Kart 8’ on the Deck too. Just a heads up, you might need to look into setting up emulation properly.
How about trying ‘Split Fiction’? It actually runs pretty well on the Deck if you adjust the settings a bit. It’s one of the best co-op games I’ve played and you can play the first few hours for free. After that, only one of you needs to buy it!
Nice suggestion! We’ve already played through ‘Split Fiction’ together on PS5 and Steam Deck though. Good times!
Don’t forget ‘Don’t Starve Together’! It’s currently $5 and offers two copies, so you can get one for your friend. Perfect for some survival action together!
‘Risk of Rain’ is another really fun multiplayer option that you can enjoy together.
Oh, nice! I saw a video from baitybait that mentioned cooperative games using mods on some of those. My personal fav for a modded experience is definitely ‘Elden Ring’ or ‘Dark Souls 3’. Totally fun.
