I’ve recently started gaming again after getting my Steam Deck two months ago, and I’m looking for some games that I can really sink my teeth into. I’ve played and loved Borderlands (all three), Cyberpunk, and Factorio, so I’m open to different genres as I’m just trying to fill some gaps between the story-driven games in my backlog. What are some grindy games that are a lot of fun? Budget isn’t a concern!

If you want a fantastic grind, definitely check out the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake. I’ve been skating around on my Deck and having an absolute blast! It’s perfect for just chilling out and grinding some sick tricks.
You might want to try Warframe! It’s got a heavy grind but it’s super rewarding. I know some people think it’s just a button masher, but there’s a lot of depth if you dive into it.
Really? I thought it looked pretty repetitive. Does it get more interesting as you go?
If you’re into deeper gameplay, Monster Hunter is a great choice! I’ve been playing Rise on my Deck, and it’s fantastic. You can get a ton of playtime out of it, especially if you enjoy crafting and fighting epic monsters.
Nice! I’ve heard it runs well. Can you hit 50-60 fps with decent graphics?
For serious grinding, look at the Disgaea series. It’s a tactical RPG with hundreds of hours of gameplay if you want to max everything out. It’s not similar to your usual games, but if you’re ready for turn-based strategy, you won’t regret it!
I’ve never tried turn-based games besides Slay the Spire. How exactly is the grindy aspect structured in Disgaea?
Sounds cool! Is that more like a sandbox where you can just roam around or does it have a progression system?
