I recently came back to Hearthstone after a long break since the Castle set, and the new expansion has definitely brought a bunch of players back. I’ve done the three catch-up packs, which helped expand my collection, and grabbed the warrior loaner deck. I’m not aiming for a Legend climb right now, just want some solid, fun decks to play casually at the end of the day. What are some decent decks or strategies I should focus on building? Any legendary cards I should keep an eye out for or general advice on what direction to take?

If you’re into something straightforward but strong, I’d recommend trying Imbue Druid. It’s pretty honest gameplay — you’re mainly applying board pressure instead of going for burst damage from hand. The imbue mechanic makes the deck unique, and if you have Malorne, you can sprinkle in some wild gods for flavor. It really feels like a classic Druid experience.
The meta right now is pretty varied, so there’s decks for all kinds of playstyles. For something aggressive, Zerg Egg Hunter nails it — swarm the board and overwhelm your opponent. Plus, it’s budget-friendly, which is great if you’re still collecting cards.
For midrange, Imbue Druid is solid and has a clear strategy involving upgrading your Hero Power to summon bigger golems.
If combos are your thing, Zarimi Priest is a powerhouse capable of huge burst damage by turn 8 by playing dragons on curve. Just a heads up though, it’s a pricey deck and might get nerfed soon.
Control decks are a bit tricky lately because Kil’Jaeden changes fatigue dynamics. Your warrior loaner deck is still pretty decent; some people swap out Tortollan Traveler for bigger taunt minions that can resurrect for more toughness.
Thanks, this helps a lot! I was curious about that priest deck since it’s demolished me a few times, but I’m wary of investing in something that might get nerfed. I’ll definitely look into the other decks you mentioned.
If you want something a bit goofy but surprisingly effective, give Sleepy DH (Demon Hunter) a try. It’s kind of hilarious in how silly its gameplay can be, but it actually works quite well in the current meta.
Never heard of that before, but it sounds fun! I’ll check it out, thanks!
That sounds like a good fit! I’ve never been into aggro decks in any card game, so a pressure-based midrange deck is more my style. Would you recommend starting with a core list and then tweaking it as I get more cards?
