I’m on the hunt for a chill game that really draws me in! I’ve previously enjoyed games like Hollow Knight, Slay the Spire, Hades, XCOM2, and Civ6. However, there are a few games that didn’t click for me, like Dave the Diver (which I forced myself to finish), Dead Cells, Terraria (I struggled with the controls on Steam Deck), and Deus Ex HR. My preferred genres are action and titles that work well for shorter play sessions. I’m open to any budget and I’m also into classic games, but I’m looking for something more modern this time. I just want to find games that can really capture my attention!

You should definitely check out the Divinity series! Larian Studios really nailed it with these games, especially before they worked on Baldur’s Gate 3. If you’re into deep storytelling and strategy, it’ll definitely hook you in. Also, if you’re concerned about starting with Divinity 2, you might find the first game a bit slow but worth pushing through if you enjoyed Planescape Torment!
Divinity 1 has its slow moments, but it really picks up. I think you’d appreciate it after getting through the beginning!
How about trying out Shin Megami Tensei V or the Ori games? Both have great stories and are engaging without being overwhelming. If you liked the vibe of games like Hollow Knight, you’d probably enjoy Ori as well!
I’ve heard amazing things about the Ori games! Are they really just as fun as they look?
Absolutely! They’re beautifully crafted and engaging, definitely worth checking out!
Give Brotato a shot! It’s super affordable and perfect for a quick pick-up-and-play kind of game. I lost an hour on the toilet just diving into it, especially with how addictive it is. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something that’s fun and not too serious!
I’ve gotta say, Brotato is a blast! I’ve invested over 100 hours in it and it’s definitely worth the small price.
Haha, just be careful! Too much Brotato might lead to some, uh, uncomfortable moments! But for real, it’s such a good time.
I’ve dabbled in Divinity 2 but couldn’t get very far either. Should I try starting with the first one or just dive into 2? I also loved Planescape Torment but found Divinity a bit slow off the bat.
