I’m on the hunt for co-op games that are enjoyable to play solo, but without feeling like I’m stuck behind when others jump in. I’ve heard recommendations like Grounded, which has a shared save system, but it still leads to issues where if one player progresses while solo, others might log back in to find advanced storylines or better gear, leaving them feeling lost. We’re running a Schedule I server and want to find games where players can pause their progression without it being an intentional choice, where the experience remains fun and accessible for everyone involved.

The Monster Hunter series lets you host co-op sessions, but you can really enjoy the game solo too. If you’re into more session-based experiences, check out games like Lethal Company or even competitive ones like League of Legends or Counter-Strike.
Outward Definitive Edition could be right up your alley! Player 2 doesn’t earn quest progress, so it keeps that solo feel. Just remember it’s limited to 2 players, but there’s a mod to bump it up to 6!
Interesting! Didn’t know there was a mod available to expand it. That could be fun for a larger group!
Don’t Starve Together is a fantastic survival game! It involves base-building, but you reset after each death, so you don’t feel too much pressure when playing alone. Also, GTA V Online is fun with lots of heists for co-op play!
Don’t Starve Together is one of the best for that! You’ll die a lot, so the pressure to keep up is pretty minimal.
7 Days to Die is a solid pick! It plays great on a private server and you can really enjoy it solo. Plus, it’s flexible enough for when friends join in.
Totally agree! It’s perfect for solo play, even though it doesn’t have a strict plot. That makes it great for occasional co-op sessions.
Sea of Thieves is worth a shot! The progression is mostly cosmetic, so it really doesn’t matter if you’ve played way more hours than your buddies. Deep Rock Galactic is also on the list; it has a fair leveling system that makes catching up easy if you decide to play solo.
Yeah, it’s the kind of setup that works well for both lone wolves and co-op play!
