I’m on the hunt for some amazing third person shooters that feature fun gameplay. I’ve really enjoyed titles like Vanquish, Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto, and The Last of Us, so I’m looking for something that matches that level of excitement and gunplay.

If you’re up for something a bit wacky, Shadows of the Damned and NeverDead could be right up your alley. They’re unique third person shooters, although not the best in terms of gameplay quality. For chunkier gunplay, Space Marine is pretty satisfying too! Also, State of Decay 2 is a fun option—it’s a TPS set in an apocalypse where you manage a community, focusing more on the shooting aspects. Days Gone has a cool story and fun motorcycle elements in a post-apocalyptic setting. Lastly, Mafia games are more narrative-focused TPS that might also interest you!
The Gears of War series is also a solid choice. The gameplay is fun and it has a great cover system. If you can find the earlier games, 1-3, you’ll probably really enjoy them.
You should definitely check out the Max Payne series! The shooting mechanics are solid and super stylish. Plus, the storyline and atmosphere really pull you in, making it a great pick for a TPS fan!
