Lately, I’ve found myself wanting to game for longer stretches but without access to my PC. I’m looking for iOS games that can keep me entertained for 30 minutes, an hour, or even more in one sitting. I’m open to pretty much any genre since I enjoy a wide variety. Ideally, these games should be free or very affordable. Any suggestions?

If you want something with a lot of content and ongoing updates, Genshin Impact is solid and pretty F2P friendly. It’s a big open world with beautiful environments inspired by real-world places. It might not be super small or cheap, but you can play a lot without spending money. On the cheaper side, Bloons Tower Defense 6 is amazing and super addictive once you get into the challenges and events. It’s great for long sessions defending with monkeys in tons of clever ways.
If you’re into quick but addictive gameplay, Balatro is actually pretty good for long sessions. I was skeptical at first but ended up playing way longer than planned. It really sucks you in.
There are some cool strategy games like XCOM that have mobile ports. The controls take a bit to get used to, but it’s the full experience and great if you like turn-based tactical gameplay. Also, for something more casual but still engaging, Plague Inc is a classic where you craft plagues to take over the world—lots of different strategies to try.
You might wanna check out Vampire Survivors. It’s cheap and perfect for playing either short bursts or several hours straight. The gameplay keeps getting crazier as you progress, so it holds your attention well.
For RPG fans, the Dragon Quest series (1-6) is on iOS and perfect for longer plays since they’re extensive story-driven games. Also, The Tower is an idle game that can take up your time early on with plenty of events and things to manage, so it’s good if you like mixing short bursts with some strategic planning.
