I’m in search of an effective support strategy for dealing with heavy units that doesn’t require the backpack slot, as I have other items that need it. My current setup includes an ammo pack, the Adjudicator, a grenade pistol, and both a grenade launcher and thermite. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you want something that isn’t a call-in, go for disposable AT launchers or a Quasar. But if staying fixed in one spot isn’t an issue for you, the AT Emplacement can be an outstanding choice.
Ditch the grenade launcher; it’s not very effective. The Quasar cannon works well for single targets but struggles with groups. Lately, I’ve been using the Anti-Material Rifle, which has been great against bots, except for those strider units. For bugs, always go for the Quasar. For illuminates, the Commando is your best bet—four shots mean four dead ravagers.
Consider using the EAT or the Commando, as they’re strong anti-tank options. The Quasar is another choice, but requires dealing with cooldowns and ramp-up bias. Personally, the Recoilless Rifle is my go-to since it’s like an instant delete button, but it doesn’t work with your backpack setup. You should try EATs; they’re solid but be prepared to deploy them as soon as the cooldown allows.
You might want to try a Railgun or an Anti-Material Sniper for automated targets and the Commando for dealing with bugs and illuminates. Another solid choice is the Quasar. Pairing a stun effect with a flamethrower is also a great strategy against bugs.
I’d recommend the Expendable AT or the Commando. They’re both super effective. I used to avoid the EAT because it only comes with one shot and then you have to find another one, but it recharges so quickly you can usually just toss another one out. The cooldown is so short that I sometimes even use it on targets hanging out at points of interest just to take them out easily.
To compare, the EAT-17 has a quick, 70-second cooldown, the Commando is at 120 seconds, and the Quasar takes 480 seconds but doesn’t expend ammo over long distances. If you’re on icy planets, the Quasar performs even better. It might come down to whether you prefer frequent call-ins or carrying the Quasar as your main armor buster. I use the Quasar because of its infinite shots and no bullet drop. Pick based on your style and mission needs!
