Hey everyone! I’m about to purchase 2x32GB of T-Force RAM for my Z690 UD AX DDR4 motherboard, but I found the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) for my board and it mentions a 32GB G.Skill RAM at 4000MHz as an option. Is that correct? It also lists a 16GB Corsair 2400MHz option, and I have some Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM from an old setup. Can I use my Corsair RAM temporarily to boost my performance until I get my new RAM? Also, I noticed my motherboard is listed as rev x.x while Gigabyte shows it as rev 1.0. Does that make a difference?

Don’t sweat it! Just because something is on the QVL doesn’t guarantee it’ll be perfect—it just means it’s been tested. The main takeaway is that you shouldn’t be too stressed about whether your RAM will work as long as it’s compatible with your motherboard. Your old RAM can definitely help until your new RAM arrives!
The QVL just shows what has been tested, not everything that’s compatible. If it’s on the QVL, it’s a strong indicator that it should work well. However, even untested RAM may work—you just might have to tweak some settings. You’re good to go using your old Corsair Vengeance temporarily to test it out while waiting for the new stuff!
The QVL isn’t an exhaustive list of everything that works. Your board supports DDR4 UDIMM up to 32GB, so using 2x32GB is totally fine. The RAM speed is mainly determined by your CPU; technically, your board can handle speeds up to 5133MT/s, but your CPU might not support it at those levels. So, if you’re worried about stability, it could be a good idea to stick to usage with the speed of your current kit for now.
Thanks for the reassurance! I feel a bit better knowing it’s not the end of the world if I use the older RAM.
