I’m trying to squeeze more battery life out of my modded console when playing PS2 and GameCube games. Currently, I can only get about 4 hours, which isn’t great, especially since I’m heading to Germany soon and won’t always be able to plug it in. Is it just that my Day 1 LCD model is suffering from battery wear? Are there any upgrades I can make for better battery performance, or specific settings I can tweak in power tools to help? I’m looking for any advice before I decide to take my Switch instead. Thanks!

Definitely check out emulators, especially for SNES and GBA games; they can offer you over 10 hours of gameplay! Also, turning off Wi-Fi, reducing screen brightness, and downclocking memory in powertools can help save battery. You shouldn’t need to tweak CPU and GPU settings if you have amd-pstate set up properly—this alone can optimize your battery life.
Have you looked into undervolting your system? It can really help with battery efficiency without affecting performance much!
If you’re looking to improve your battery life, try playing less demanding games like older PC ports from the Xbox 360 era, and reduce the TDP to around 4W. That should help save some juice.
You might want to consider taking a USB-C power bank with you! I’ve got one and it kept me charged up during a 13-hour flight. It’s super handy for trips.
No, but that sounds smart! I’ll definitely give it a shot. Thanks for the tip!
