I just beat the game and it was an awesome experience! Since I have kids, I tend to play in chunks. Now, I’m planning to speedrun it. I let Holder kill Garrow, so I’m aiming for the Garrow ending and will likely play on easy difficulty.
I’m thinking I’ll need around 3-5 batteries, and maybe a couple of blue tonics. I’m planning to get some from the priest robot in town and trade with the bakery girl to get access to Garrow. Also need to blackmail the guy for the gun manual. Once I’m outside, I’ll head to the Casterfall interchange; that’s my plan for that zone. I’m hoping to snag a Molotov throw during the run. Any tips or suggestions would be super helpful! Thanks!

For a successful speedrun, 4 batteries should suffice. I actually did it while playing it safe. I got one battery from the traders (who I took out), one from a downed robot near the skeg trader, and another from the protocol vehicle storage packed with raiders. I beat the game on easy, and the hardest part was sneakily accessing the data storage without getting spotted. Just under 2 hours total, and it was a lot of running past enemies!
For a speedrun, if you’re not extracting the sample, you only need 4 batteries, plus the one from the console in the interchange. I’ve had success with just 1 strange tonic as well. Good luck, you’ll do great!
Actually, you’ll want to aim for 6 batteries for the best times. The fastest run recorded was about 18 minutes, but that video got pulled from YouTube. The quickest available run now is around 27 minutes. Good luck, keep it speedy!
There’s a battery in a box on the left near Oberon—grabbing that can really save time!
I remember watching ThatFriendlyGuy on Twitch nail that speedrun. It was insane to see! Hope you can beat it!
Thanks for the info!
