Hey everyone! I’m feeling a bit lost with my Baltimore cruiser and could really use some advice. It seems to be a solid ship, but I’m not sure how to get the most out of it. What strategies or tips can you share for playing Baltimore well? Any specific playstyle advice would be great!

When playing Baltimore, it’s crucial to know what battleships can outmatch your bow plating. You can tank shots from battleships with 381 mm guns or lower, but be careful of those with larger calibers like 406 mm or 410 mm. Use your radar to support your destroyers; if you’ve built your ship correctly, your radar range should be just beyond your detection range, allowing you to spot sneaky enemies. Definitely pick up the radar duration module with coal to maximize your radar’s potential. Also, watch out for torpedo hits since US heavy cruisers typically have poor protection against them. Be mindful about showing your broadside to battleships and bigger cruisers because you lack protective armor. Remember that your AP can do significant damage if positioned well, and make sure to pick up the gun feeder skill to switch shells more efficiently.
The key to Baltimore is playing near islands and using radar to control areas and spot enemy destroyers. Focus on taking down targets once battleships are out of the equation or if there’s a weaker battleship nearby like the Bismarck. If your flank is getting overrun, don’t hesitate to kite back. You’ll want to avoid being in the open for too long, as that can lead to a quick elimination.
One thing to keep in mind is to use Baltimore’s range wisely. Try to maximize your distance while dodging shots, and figure out the right angles to avoid citadel shots. It’s important to support your destroyers and not rush ahead into danger alone. Baltimore thrives when it can rain down AP against exposed enemies, so positioning is everything. Just remember, you’re there to support your team, not just to take the glory!
