I’m super excited to dive into Baldur’s Gate this summer! As a bit of a completionist, I’m looking for tips on my first playthrough. Are there any specific weapons or armor in Act 1 that I should grab? Also, are there any secret rooms or hidden treasures I should keep an eye out for? (Playing on PS5)

Remember that despite the urgent feel of the plot, it’s not a race. Explore as much as you can, rest when you need to, and don’t stress about missing things on your first run. It’s meant to be a little chaotic, and you’ll have plenty of chances to play again without rushing!
Just a heads up: You can’t possibly see and do everything in one playthrough, so don’t get discouraged. Your choices will impact which quests and endings you get, making it highly replayable!
For your first round, I’d skip locking in the Dark Urge; focus on talking to every character and exploring options. Being a charisma-based character like a bard or warlock can open up a ton of dialogue choices too!
It’s best to go in unspoiled. My biggest tip is to take long rests often; they recharge your abilities and can trigger important cutscenes. Also, chat frequently with your companions for more depth with the story.
Absolutely agree! Don’t hesitate to use your camp supplies. You’ll find plenty of them as you progress!
So true! Just embrace the experience and know that your subsequent playthroughs will be where you actually try to ‘complete’ things.
