I’m on a solo sailing journey trying to wrap up a specific commendation where you have to hang off a skeleton ship and travel a particular distance. The issue is that every time I manage to hang on successfully, the ship decides to dive underwater, and I just disappear! This has happened three times on three different skeleton galleons. What’s the best strategy to get this done?

Make sure to hop off from hanging every now and then! The commendation only counts your progress when you actively stop hanging for a bit. So don’t just cling on the whole time; take a break now and then to let it log your time!
I tackled a Skeleton fleet by getting my sloop to lightly rotate while using a bone caller. This way, they couldn’t damage my ship too badly. After that, I hopped aboard, took out all the skeletons, and used lure darts to keep the spawned enemies focused at the front and stairs while I hung off the side. Having a partner definitely makes it easier—one can lure while the other hangs!
I managed to do this on the Burning Blade by hanging next to the cannons. Just needed a lure dart now and then to keep me safe. And the best part? When other players show up, you get to mess with them a bit!
