Hey everyone! I’ve been deeply invested in Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) on my PC but took a break for a year or two. Recently, I’ve found myself gravitating towards the PS5 and snagged ESO on sale for just $5 from the PS Store. Now, I’m contemplating diving back into the game on console. However, I’ve come across some concerns:
1. Can I really link my existing ESO account from PC to PS5?
2. I’ve relied heavily on various addons to enhance my gameplay experience, like mini-maps and combat alerts. Is the game still enjoyable on console without these addons? I’ve also been playing Skyrim on PS5 lately, and while it’s different without mods, I still find it fun. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I think console and PC play styles differ quite a bit. On console, we often rely on websites for info instead of addons. It might take some getting used to, but it can be fun in its own way! Plus, I’m guessing you can use your laptop for maps and other guides while you play. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to adjust to a more minimalist MMO experience on console since things like collecting lore and treasure hunting take a bit longer without quick addons. But hey, if you enjoyed Skyrim without mods, you might adapt pretty well!
Honestly, going to console can feel like a downgrade if you’re used to PC. Loading times, graphic fidelity, and the overall performance just aren’t as high. I’d recommend keeping your PC access if you can! But if you’re planning to play casually on PS5, you might be fine; just make sure to take your time getting used to the console mechanics. Plus, at $5, you’re not losing much by trying it out!
Totally agree! It might be a whole new vibe, but that can be nice sometimes. Just go in with an open mind. Playing on different platforms can refresh your perspective on the game!
Just so you know, linking your account is possible, but don’t expect any progress to carry over. And yeah, while they’re working on bringing some addons to console soon, you might find it a bit harder to manage without them initially. I’ve switched from console to PC, and I won’t lie, there’s a huge difference in terms of performance and community. But you might still have a decent time if you’re willing to explore and learn the game again!
That’s a good point. I also switched to Xbox after PC and found I didn’t miss my old setup as much. It’s a refreshing challenge on console, and if you can let go of the addons, you might appreciate the game from a different angle!
Yeah, exactly! It’s all about embracing the console experience and using online resources. Plus, without the addons, you end up finding more in the game and making it unique for yourself.
