I’m looking to buy a budget PC for my friend so I can finally stop gaming alone. I’m a bit of a PC novice, so I would appreciate if someone could suggest a build or a pre-built system that can handle games like ‘7 Days to Die’ and ‘Sons of the Forest’ reliably. Thanks in advance!

If you’re considering a PC build, I’d suggest something like an Intel i3-12100F paired with an RX 6600. It’ll handle those games pretty well!
You might want to consider building the PC and then lending it to him first. This way, if he doesn’t get into gaming, you haven’t lost it completely. If he ends up loving it, you can always let him keep it later!
There are plenty of pre-built options that offer great value for around $750-$1000, especially with a 4060/14600 setup. These will definitely run the games you’re interested in!
I’ve had good luck with my HP Omen from about 7-8 years ago, which has an Intel i7-6700 and GTX 1070. Honestly, anything in the budget range now should run those games fine. Just to let you know, I also play solo most of the time, so I get where you’re coming from!
That’s a solid move! Just hope your friend appreciates the gesture!
Just a heads up, while it’s a nice gesture, try not to feel obligated to make your friend play games just because you bought him a PC. I’d recommend keeping it modest, like a GTX 970 or RX 580, plus maybe a budget 720p monitor with an R5 3600 CPU and 16GB of RAM.
Haha, I hope so too! It would be a bummer if he didn’t get into it.
