I’m a long-time PC player and haven’t been gaming for a while. Recently, my friend suggested we play The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) on PS5 together. However, I’m concerned about a few things, particularly the queue times for PvP and PvE activities. Are the queues for PvP long? And what about dungeons and other PvE content? Also, does the community feel active on PS5, or is it pretty dead? I want to avoid investing time into a game only to be stuck in long queues.

The game’s definitely not dead, but you might notice some familiar faces popping up in battlegrounds. Having played both versions, I can say the PS5 performance isn’t as smooth as on PC. I’ve experienced some skill lag and server issues on PS5 that you don’t typically see on PC. Plus, the 30 FPS menus are a bit jarring after getting used to higher frame rates on PC.
Everything tends to load fast on PS5, and it works well enough compared to PC! Just make sure your monitor or TV has the latest firmware. Playing time can also affect how many players are online. Finding a good guild will enhance your experience significantly. Welcome back to the game!
Don’t be fooled; it certainly doesn’t run like PC. Performance is generally better on PC, especially in terms of load times and player counts.
For PvE, the queues can be a bit of a wait, especially if you’re jumping in as a damage dealer. I’ve seen queues last around 10-15 minutes. However, if you go in as a healer, it’s usually much quicker. Just as a heads-up, some game modes can be accessed for free with certain PS+ subscriptions, so you might want to check that out before diving in.
Thanks for the info! If I get ESO Plus, does it include everything I would get with the 2025 premium version?
