Hey everyone! It’s been ages since I last played Destiny 2, and the last time I checked in, I hadn’t finished the Lightfall campaign. Now I’m considering picking up the new EoF expansion and diving back in. Honestly, how much of a shock to the system should I expect after being away for so long? Are clans still active, and where can I find a welcoming community or a beginner-friendly spot if I decide to jump back in? I really appreciate any advice you can give!

Honestly, the game hasn’t changed drastically since Lightfall. Sure, the core systems are pretty much the same, including subclasses and armor setup. They are introducing some new features with EoF like a revamped armor system and a new activity selection method. If you’re curious about the latest updates, Bungie’s shared a lot about the changes in the past few months that could help get you up to speed.
The EoF expansion seems like it’s going to be a kind of reset for Destiny 2, especially as they prepare for the future. They’re making several changes aimed at welcoming new players back. Armor and weapon systems are getting revamped, so everyone—old and new—will have to rethink their setups. If you can snag it on sale, finishing the Lightfall campaign is a good idea, especially to unlock the Strand subclass before jumping into the Final Shape content, which is also supposed to be fantastic!
I’ve been doing the same thing! Just trying to keep up with everything to make my return smoother.
