I’m thinking it would be awesome to see some more potent support weapons in Helldivers, like a Mk. II autocannon or an Anti-Material Rifle (AMR). These would either cost requisition points to bring along or have limited uses per mission. Imagine a Mk. II laser cannon that could spawn in tougher side objectives like mega factories or research bases. It could really ramp up the excitement and create some fun recovery missions if you lose a powerful weapon. This could also enhance the experience for new players tackling high difficulties or even introduce super boss enemies as side objectives, similar to the new automation convoys.

How about making them a battlefield pickup option? You could only call it in a couple of times during a mission, which would keep it from being overpowered. That’s similar to how some of the limited-use stratagems work; they can be super effective but also risky to use, keeping the gameplay balanced.
I see where you’re coming from, but I think these weapons could be geared toward veteran players. Sure, they might be pricey, but that means they should reward those who take on harder missions. If you die with one, it becomes a field pickup, compelling players to strategize about recovering it. I think it can add depth to the game!
I get what you’re saying, but I think adding temporary power boosts could backfire. New players usually want to unlock new gear, not worry about resource management for temporary weapons. Plus, those who use boosts might make the game way easier for everyone else, ruining the challenge. It could lead to a frustrating experience, especially for those who just want a tough fight.
This kind of system could be a great permanent upgrade option. If done well, it might finally introduce some late-game progression and a resource sink that keeps players engaged. It’s all about balancing it correctly so it doesn’t feel too strong or weak, but it could really enhance the overall experience!
