I’ve noticed that Guardian Games (GG) isn’t really hitting the mark with a lot of players lately. Many feel it’s unbalanced, there’s a lack of trust in the backend balancing, and some people just seem indifferent about it. I have an idea to make future events more engaging. How about replacing it with a similar event that combines the best aspects of GG and the Faction War? I’m thinking of a three-week long event where each faction is represented by an allied race: Luzaku for the Lucent Brood, Eido/Mithrax for the Eliksni, and Caiatl for the Cabal. Each faction would offer themed class items, and players could earn medals depending on which class item they’re wearing in activities. This would eliminate rigidity we see now and expand appearances for gear. Players could also choose ghost shells instead of class items to keep things fresh. The winning faction could get a trophy displayed in the tower along with an exotic weapon skin. This format would keep the fun of GG but reduce class-related friction. What do you think?

I think GG has improved over the years, but the class war bit is pretty stale. Your idea could lighten things up and draw focus on enjoying gameplay rather than stressing over who’s winning.
This year’s GG felt really good, thanks to Rushdown for the PvE side. But yeah, people get riled up over class competition, especially since Hunters dominate. Maybe it’s better if the focus shifts to cool loot and fun activities instead.
I get what you’re saying. It seems like every event has its share of complaints about class balance. Keep the fun, but lessen the stress of competition!
I don’t take these events too seriously. It’s just a chance to farm bright dust for me. But I totally get people are frustrated about the complaints; I think your idea could really help lessen some of that.
It’s interesting you say that, considering so many folks are looking for changes to reduce the heat around balance issues.
Honestly, I feel like most people just don’t care who wins anymore. The activities can be fun, especially with Rushdown. But yeah, if they added some appealing weapons, that would definitely spice things up!
You’ve hit the nail on the head. But the issue with adding sweet weapons is the fear of missing out (FOMO) vibes.
Exactly! I just think the main fun is in the activities themselves, and less on who wins the competition. Let’s keep it casual!
