I’m on the hunt for some fresh gaming experiences on PS5 and I’m particularly interested in third-person shooters. I’m looking for something open world and loot-driven, with satisfying gunplay. Fantasy games aren’t really my thing. To give you an idea, I really enjoyed Days Gone, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, and the Metro series—Exodus being the only first-person shooter I’ve actually liked. I’ve spent countless hours in Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA V, slowly savoring RDR2. Recently, I played Helldivers II which had great gameplay but lost my interest after 100 hours. I also tried The Evil Within 2 but that psychological horror doesn’t appeal to me. Horizon Zero Dawn felt too fantasy-heavy and Warframe had a similar vibe. I enjoyed Mad Max, but it got boring after a while because of its old gameplay. Ideally, I’m looking for games from 2015 or later. I’ve played a ton of games back in the day. Apologies if my English isn’t perfect; it’s not my first language.

I’ve been revisiting The Division 2, and I’m really enjoying it. The setting is engaging, and the weapons feel pretty solid, though some enemies can be a bit spongy. It’s a fun game to dive back into!
You should definitely check out Outriders! It has some solid gunplay and a mix of looting and shooting that might keep you entertained. Plus, it’s pretty fresh and not too much on the fantasy side if you avoid some elements.
If you’re up for something a bit different, Armored Core VI has some great gameplay too. Give it a look!
The Last of Us is a fantastic pick if you haven’t tried it yet! It’s set in a post-apocalyptic world where you scavenge for resources and craft tools to survive, and it offers an emotional story to boot. Kinda along the lines of Days Gone.
Plus, it has one of the best narratives in gaming history!
I second this, Outriders is awesome!
