Struggling with RE2 Remake's Hardcore Mode - Why So Many Blue Herbs?

-

I’m currently playing Resident Evil 2 Remake on Hardcore mode and I feel like the game is taunting me. I’m stuck in the West Umbrella Labs, nearly running out of health, and all I keep finding are blue herbs—I’ve got over twelve of them! The only time I used one was to create a mix with a red and green herb. This situation is driving me crazy! Is there a reason for all these blue herbs?

The blue herbs are there to help you mix with green and red to get a solid defense buff. If you combine them properly, you can withstand more damage, especially during boss fights! Just make sure to have some regular heals on you too.

Have you tried mixing the blue herbs with a red herb? The R+B combo actually boosts your defense, which can be a lifesaver. That way, you can keep your health topped up and take a bit more damage during fights!

I just wrapped up the game and wish I had known this sooner! That would have made things so much easier. I’ll definitely keep that in mind for my next playthrough with Claire!

The boost from the herbs isn’t permanent, just temporary. After a few minutes, that shield symbol will fade away. It’s definitely a good strategy for those tough moments!
