Hey everyone, I’ve run into a relentless battery problem and I’m hoping someone might have a solution I haven’t tried yet. The issues started happening intermittently, with my Steam Deck’s battery reading 0% yet still managing a full session—frustrating, right? Now, things have gotten worse, with the device jumping from full charge straight to 0% and randomly shutting off, even while plugged in! I bought this refurbished Deck on eBay since I’m in the Caribbean, and Valve mentioned it was originally from Best Buy. I’m clinging to hope for a software fix, as it doesn’t seem hardware-related, but I might have to send it back if things don’t improve. Has anyone experienced something similar or found a lasting fix? Looking particularly for anything beyond the solutions found online. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried disabling the quick boot in the setup utility? Start up your Deck and press volume up to get into the menu. I had a battery problem once, and toggling the quick boot to off really helped. It’s worth a shot if you haven’t yet.
I hear you about factory resets being a last resort! It’s a hassle with all the setup involved afterward, but if nothing else works, it might help diagnose if it’s a software glitch. At least games on your SD won’t be affected, so there’s that silver lining.
I faced a similar battery headache, and what saved me was recalibrating the battery. I found guidance on Steam’s help pages, which sorted me out, but it might not be a permanent fix. If recalibration doesn’t stick for you, it could be time to use that warranty you mentioned and go for a new one.
I did try that a few times, but it only seems to work temporarily. Going through the same process repetitively is super frustrating.
