Hey folks! I’m having some pretty frustrating performance issues while playing Cyberpunk 2077, and I could really use your insights. Here’s my setup:
– CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
– GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
– PSU: ASUS ROG Loki SFX-L Platinum
– RAM: 32GB at 6000 Hz
– Monitor: 2K resolution.
The issue is that in Squad, my GPU hits 100% usage and I can get over 140 FPS, but when I switch to Cyberpunk, my CPU usage spikes to 90-100% while my GPU barely hits 47%. This results in poor FPS and annoying stuttering. I’ve also run a GPU stress test that’s pulling normal power levels (250W), but in Cyberpunk, it only draws around 170W, which is concerning.
I’ve tried a few fixes:
1. Enabled AMD Smart Access Memory in BIOS.
2. Disabled AMD Fluid Motion Frames and turned on FSR 3 Frame Generation in the game.
3. Set Windows power settings to High Performance.
4. Updated AMD Adrenalin drivers with a clean install.
Still, I can’t seem to get my GPU utilized fully in Cyberpunk, which is making gameplay much worse than I expected. Has anyone experienced similar troubles or have suggestions for fixes? Thanks so much for your help!

Yeah, Cyberpunk can be a bit demanding in terms of CPU. It’s known to prefer more cores, so having only 6 can result in some frame dips. Why don’t you try capping your FPS for a smoother experience? It could help manage performance a bit better without stressing the CPU.
It looks like your CPU is the bottleneck here, given that it’s reaching 100% usage. The Ryzen 5 7600X should handle Cyberpunk, but it’s possible that some background processes are taking up resources. You might want to check your CPU temps and clock speeds under full load. Also, try stress testing your CPU to ensure it’s performing optimally. Good luck!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely run a stress test and see the clock speeds during max load.
That sounds like a good idea! I’ll give FPS capping a shot and see if it helps.
