After just getting back into Minecraft, I’ve hit a few bumps with unexpected challenges. Within an hour, a creeper blew up my house, a supposed friend pushed me off a cliff, a wild dog came after me, and that same friend looted my house. To top it all off, I can’t seem to locate any villages to gather resources. Does anyone have some solid advice or tips to help me get settled in the game? I’m nearly at my limit here. 😢

It sounds like a wild session! I’d suggest turning on the gamerule ‘keepInventory’ and setting it to ‘true’. That way, you’ll keep your gear when you die. Maybe also consider finding some more considerate players to team up with. It really makes a difference to your game experience!
Dealing with creepers is a common issue. You might want to start building an underground or elevated base to keep your house safe from explosions. As for finding villages, using the ‘Locate’ command can be a huge help or just explore in one consistent direction and you’ll eventually hit one.
Sounds like you’re facing both in-game and social challenges. For starters, play in Peaceful mode if mobs and resources are overwhelming. As for friends, it might be good to set some boundaries or play solo until you find players who support your playstyle.
