It seems like many console players have a hard time with lockpicking, but leveling up your Thievery skill makes a big difference. You might want to try using a Quickfinger potion to enhance your skills temporarily, making it easier to pick locks and pickpocket while you’re leveling up.
Try using all your fingers to pinch the joystick instead of gripping it the regular way. This technique helped me open really tough chests on the first try without any hassle.
