Hey everyone! I’ve recently dived back into Skyward Sword HD, and I’m having a tough time! It seems like enemies are reacting way too quickly for my feints, and it’s really messing with my gameplay. I barely get half a second to switch angles before they block me. Isn’t this supposed to be a game for kids? 😂 I remember it being way easier back on the Wii. I’m not facing any controller issues, so I’m wondering if I’m just not good at the game or if there’s some weird jank going on with Skyward Sword.

Yeah, motion controls can be a headache throughout the game. Once you figure out the stick controls, it gets a lot easier! Just a heads up, though, the bamboo slicing mini-game is better with motion controls, so prepare for that!
What control scheme are you using? I played with button controls, and it helped me a lot! Instead of trying to gesture, I just flicked the right stick to swing. It took some getting used to, but once I nailed it, the angles felt way better. Just remember, there’s definitely a learning curve since the controls can feel different from most modern games!
I tried motion controls for a bit, but they’re just not working for me, so I’m back to the controller, lol. Timing and movement speed is tricky! I tend to flick too hard and just end up swinging instead of attacking.
A solid strategy is to wait for your enemies to attack first, then parry and hit back while they’re open. They can be super reactive, which is kinda weird! I’ve noticed less attentive enemies in games like Elden Ring, while these guys have laser focus!
Exactly! It’s wild how focused they are. I thought I was imagining it at first, but they really do have hawk eyes.
Right? The motion controls were surprisingly off. I swear the Wii version handled better! Maybe it’s just my Switch’s placement or something, lmao.
